[Worship]

[Youth Chimes]Worship is the primary activity of the people of God. Therefore, worship shall occupy the central place in the life of the congregation and our praise of God shall reflect the very best we can offer.

"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing."     Psalm 100

Christmas Candlelight Worship @ 3:00 & 5:00 p.m. on December 24, 2009 – Christmas carols, candles, a children’s sermon, beautiful music, Holy Communion and the wonderful news of a savior fill our Christmas Family Worship Services on December 24 th. From the robust singing of Joy to the World to the quiet lighting of candles during Silent Night, Christmas worship fills our hearts with a joy and peace the world cannot give.

Christmas Cantata @ 10:00 p.m. on December 24, 2009 – The Senior Choir will be performing the premiere of new Christmas Cantata on Christmas Eve., at the 10 PM worship service. The five movement work, written by ELC’s Director of Music, Gary Walth, is entitled “The Vision Fulfilled” and is based upon the prophetic works of the Old Testament book of Isaiah. Scored for choir, piano, strings and narrator, the texts are taken primarily from Chapters 9 and 40. Rehearsals for the cantata will be at 9:35 AM on Sunday mornings beginning Sunday, November  22. Choral singers who wish to participate in the performance are invited to attend the Sunday morning rehearsals or contact Dr. Gary Walth at walth.gary@uwlax.edu.

Christmas Morning @ 9:30 a.m. on December 25, 2009
This simple and gentle service includes the singing of many Christmas Carols, the story of the Incarnation according to the Gospel of John, and the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Pastor Pupillo will bring the message on Christmas Day.

Cocoa and Carols Advent Service - The Cocoa and Carols service will be combined with the Sunday School Christmas program and offered this year on Saturday, December 19th at 5:00 p.m. Come, hear the ageless scripture verses that prophesy and proclaim the coming of Christ. Sing those marvelous carols we all love so much. Enjoy cocoa and cookies and fellowship.
