Brewers' Trip
The 17th annual English Lutheran family road trip to cheer the Milwaukee Brewers is set for
Sunday, July 10, 2011! The cost is $65.00 per person and includes bus fare, game ticket,
tailgate party and snacks on the bus. For more information visit our Welcome Center or

CANOE TRIPS
A couple of times each summer we organize an ELC family canoe trip. All ages and ability levels are welcome.
Canoe trips typically take place on a Saturday or Sunday and last a few hours. We explore the waters of
one of our nearby rivers and generally select an easy portion. The canoe trips are a relaxing way to spend some
meaningful time with English Lutheran friends. Watch for announcments on upcoming trips this summer.
LOGGERS GAME
Each summer our English Lutheran family enjoys a LaCrosse Loggers game together.
We reserve a party deck where we gather
for some fun fellowship while we cheer on the Loggers! Folks of all ages are welcome.
Our next Loggers game is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29. For more information
contact Cara Hartfield at 784-8876, ext. 301.
MARDI GRAS
Mardi Gras has become a fun faith-filled tradition here at English Lutheran. On
February 19th, 2012 there will be a chance for our whole church family to play together as we prepare for Lent.
A New Orleans-style dinner, music by Faithlift, team-building games, and resources that will help you prepare
for your Lenten journey are all a part of the tradition. Mardi Gras also serves as a fund raiser for our youth
programs at ELC. You won't want to miss this fun fellowsip event!
Picnic in the Park
Every year, we celebrate the waters of life in our baptism. Join us on Sunday, August
28, 2011 for our annual outdoor
River Service at the Riverside Park Bandshell. The service begins at 10:00 am and features our praise band,
Faithlift. After worship, we enjoy some good fellowship with a picnic lunch and games and activities for children. See photos.
PROGRESSIVE DINNER
This is a fun opportunity for the adults of our congregation to gather for an evening of wonderful dining
and great fellowship. We travel from home to home while enjoying delicious food with good friends. Stay tuned for details on our next progressive
dinner.
Senior Fun & Fellowship
The Fun & Fellowship Group is for all adults and meets at 12:00 noon on the 4th Monday of each month for a pot-luck lunch followed by a special program.
September - May.
Skiing at Mt. La Crosse
Several times during the winter we gather at Mt. LaCrosse for "English Lutheran Family Day". All ages and
skiing abilites are welcome. Cost for lift ticket and ski rental is very reasonable and includes a hot dog supper.
Look for announcements in ELC's calendar and watch for a sign-up at the Welcome Center.
SMALL GROUPS
A place to belong, a place to connect. We offer several different small groups here at English Lutheran. Some
examples include a Gardening group, a Women's Spirituality group, a Sacred Sewing group, a group for Young Adults, a Men's group and a Book of Faith group. Some of the groups meet weekly, others meet once or twice per month. For more information on any of these small groups contact Cara Hartfield at 784-8876, ext. 301.
Softball Teams
Join the Softball Team in 2011!
English Lutheran softball teams had a great time in their 2010 season with the Coulee Christian Slow Pitch League. The league is open to women and men, ages 16 and up and the emphasis is on fellowship and fun!
Playing in this league is a
great way to meet new people and socialize with other members of the Christian community. Join us this summer
for some fun and fellowship.....and yes, some good softball. Keep and eye out for the sign-up in May at the Welcome Center. Softball runs all summer.
Contact Dan Rooney or Pastor Mark Solyst for more information.
Sunshine mission
This mission is a way of helping families after bringing a new baby home, after being hospitalized, or in the event there is a death in the family. We reach out to our congregation to help ease the transition after a major event in life occurs by assisting with meals. You can be involved in a couple of different ways:
- Make and deliver a meal to a family in need. The meals can be as simple as you wish (from a crock pot dinner to take out). You may even choose how often you are willing and able to prepare and deliver the meal (i.e. monthly, quarterly, yearly).
- Let us know of a family in need. Not everyone contacts the church office when they are struggling. Don't hesitate to contact us if you think someone could use assistance.
Team members include: Laura Eber, Angie Engebretson, Missy Pepin, and Michelle Wanders.
Contact Jennifer Jones if you would like to volunteer or have information on about a family in need.
